Jefferson Parish District 5
"This district is faced with real challenges. I have the experience and courage to make the tough decisions that must be made. If we are going to improve drainage, accelerate "Pump to the River", revitalize Fat City, support our firemen, and stand against fraud, waste, and cronyism, then it requires an experienced leader who has the history of standing for people over politics. I would appreciate your trust and vote. With your support, I will prove just how good government works for everyone."
- Senator Julie Quinn
"My record of good government, combined with courage and accomplishment, proves I will be an effective leader on the Jefferson Parish Council"
Julie's Five Point Plan
As a member of the Jefferson Parish Council, Julie Quinn will:
- Expedite completion of pumping station at the lake and "Pump to the River" to protect against flooding.
- Rid Fat City of blight and begin the strategic redevelopment of the area as Metairie’s retail and residential jewel with shopping, corporate offices and upscale living.
- Excercise proactive planning to gain Jefferson more SELA funding for better drainage, and use legislative experience to gain state funding for isolated drainage project like strengthening the canal flood walls in the Bonnabel subdivision.
- Begin the long-range planning to eliminate rail traffic through District 5.
- Demand efficient spending in parish government to prevent Jefferson residents and businesses from paying new taxes.
